My name is James M. Grant and I am an attorney licensed to practice in the State of Illinois, with offices in Charleston and Casey.
My office deals with all types of civil practice, but primarily real estate, title insurance, probate and income tax.
I have been involved with probating estates in Coles, Clark and Cumberland Counties of Illinois for over 28 years, and examining titles and issuing title insurance policies in the same 3 counties for 15 years.
While I no longer engage in trial practice or family cases, I am quite familiar with the attorneys who work in that area and am able to give some advice with regard to referrals.
We strive to provide the best service possible for our clients in Coles, Clark and Cumberland Counties.
My Personal Background: I graduated from Eastern Illinois University in 1972 with a BA in Speech and Political Science. Following this I obtained a Juris Doctor Degree from St. Louis University School of Law. I joined a Charleston law firm in 1976 and became a partner in that firm in 1979 and remained there until January 1998.
During that time the Casey office was opened and I developed that office. I left the partnership and went into my own practice in January, 1998 taking the Casey office. At the same time I opened my Charleston office at its present location. With the help of my staff, I work from both the Charleston and Casey offices.
